Thefts from vehicles probed

Theft from vehicle incidents and a burglary are being probed in Carbon County.

The theft from vehicles incident occurred in the Little Gap Estates at the following residences - 595 Forest Drive, 50 Dogwood Lane and 60 Juniper Road, all in Lower Towamensing Township.

Troopers said the Subaru Impreza of Tara Takerer, 38, of Palmerton, was entered and $10 in cash removed along with a Trac phone valued at $30. The passenger side window of a Scion XB of Krystle Contreras, 24, of Palmerton, was forced open by use of a slim jim type device and removed was a black Garmin GPS valued at $350, a pink Ipod nano valued at $100, a pink Sony cybershot camera valued at $150 and a silver Sony cybershot camera valued at $250. The Saturn LS of Jean Norman, 60, of Palmerton, was entered and removed was a Garmin GPS valued at $200, a CD containing information from her work and $30 in cash.

The incidents occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, and 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

The burglary occurred at the residence of Elizabeth Kromer, 39, of 10 Andrew Court, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township. The home was entered sometime between Oct. 2 and 9. Different items in the residence was disturbed but nothing was apparently taken.
