Swim boosters
The Tamaqua Swim/Diving Team Boosters are conducting a used clothing drive the weekend of Oct. 30 through Nov. 1. The American Hose Fire Company, Mauch Chunk Street, will serve as the collection center. Hours will be Oct. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m.; Oct. 31, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Nov. 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Knee hi wrestling
The Tamaqua Knee Hi Wrestling Association will conduct a registration session this evening, from 6-8 p.m., at the West Penn Elementary School.

Writer's network
The Black Diamond Writers' network will meet Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. Guest speaker will be Jessica Lucey, a marketing executive at Mars Inc. as well as a communicator for Toastmasters' International. Her topic will be successful ways to make presentations to live audiences.
The public is welcome to attend.

St. John UCC
The Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ. The service will be followed by a time of fellowship. Sunday school classes for all ages will begin at 11 a.m. The weekly service will be broadcast on radio station WLSH, 1410 AM, at 11:30 a.m.
Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
Bethany EC
The Rev. Kevin Roberts will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church. Sunday school classes will meet at 9:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Tamaqua Youth Ministry staff will meet at 11:45 a.m.; a service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Hometown Nursing Center; and a service will be held at 6 p.m. at the Tamaqua ABC Hi Rise.
Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, Prayer Time at 8:30 a.m. and GriefShare from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; Wednesday, Tamaqua Youth Ministry, prayer and adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m., parenting class at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, Reading group meets at 9 a.m. and Praise practice will be held at 9 a.m.
