No, the historic train station wasn't on fire, nor was old No. 425 the steam engine back in town earlier this week. The billowing "smoke" in downtown Jim Thorpe on Wednesday came from the hot asphalt being put down near the old CNJ Railroad station and Josiah White Park by Motola's Paving of Lehighton. The new blacktop should help prevent the formation of large puddles there during rainfalls.
