FIELD HOCKEY

Lehighton-Selinsgrove

In a battle of unbeaten powerhouses, Vanessa Rimbey's first half goal proved to be the game-winner as the Indians pulled out a 1-0 win over Selinsgrove. Rimbey deflected a shot by Corri McConville for the game's lone goal.

The Indians improved to 17-0 on the season. Selisgrove is now 16-1.

Lehighton will return to action when it hosts the MVC semifinals on Wednesday. It will face East Stroudsburg South.

Bangor-Pleasant Valley

Pleasant valley posted a 3-2 decision over non-league opponent Bangor.

Felecia Domenici and Allison Heckman provided the locals with a 2-0 halftime lead, only to see the Slaters battle back and tie the game.

In a game where both teams had eight shots on goal, Alanna Liptak provided the Bears' game-winner.

PV improves to 9-7-2 while Bangor falls to 12-5.
