Lehighton couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Moyer of Lehighton observed their 50th anniversary recently.

They were married on Oct. 21, 1959 in the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Easton by the Rev. Floyd Shafer.

Mr. Moyer spent three years in the U.S. Army in the Army Security Agency in Arlington, Va., and was a truck driver for Interstate Dress Carriers for 30 years.

He also was employed by Lehighton Area School District for 10 years.

Mrs. Moyer was employed at Hoffords Mill in Weissport, and also worked at Gnaden Huetten Hospital as a CNA in Dr. C.G. Snyder's office in Lehighton.

They have seven children: Linda Bieniek of Tamaqua; June Hedrick of Palmerton; and Debra Everetts, Reuben, Richard and Michael, all of Lehighton. A daughter, Barbara Scott, is deceased.

Mr. Moyer also celebrated his birthday on Oct. 21.
