Rush police make theft, DUI arrests
Rush Township police have made arrests for retail theft, driving under the influence (DUI) and are investigating the theft of a purse from a vehicle.
On Oct. 23 at 5:27 p.m., Andre J. Smith Morales, 28, of Nesquehoning, was arrested and is facing retail theft charges along with possession of a small amount of marijuana. Smith Morales attempted to steal socks and numerous animal products at WalMart. Police found the small amount of marijuana in his sneakers.
On Oct. 23 between 5:30-6 p.m. in the area of 219 Claremont Ave., Hometown, police responded to a report of a side passenger window smashed out of a vehicle. A purse was stolen from inside the vehicle, police said.
On Oct. 24 at 11:20 p.m. Christopher J. Miller, 19, of Tamaqua, was arrested and is facing DUI for controlled substance and possession of a small amount of marijuana after being stopped on Pine Creek Dr. Police did smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Miller was taken for a blood test at the Pottsville Hospital.
