Working on doctorate
Marie Maradeo, a Panther Valley High School graduate and daughter of Peter and Jan Maradeo of Nesquehoning, is working toward her Ph. D in the molecular biology department at Lehigh University in the laboratory of Professor Robert Skibbens. Marie is the recipient of a Nemes Fellowship, awarded each semester to recognize exceptional students who have demonstrated excellence inscholarship, teaching, and service, and have made significant progress toward their Ph.D. The Skibbens lab identifies the molecules and processes required for cells to segregate duplicated chromosomes into newly forming cells.
