Teen cyclist killed in Monroe crash

40 a.m. on Aug. 27, and reported today by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said Michael S. Frantz, 19, of Effort, was driving a 2004 Suzuki Katana northbound on SR715. While negotiating a left curve in the road the bike went onto the shoulder and continued on the berm just past Smith Hill Road. The bike went over a grass embankment and struck a tree and then a log. Frantz was thrown from the bike after the bike hit the log and came to rest in tall weeds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
