Ready for a face lift
Four new faces for the clock atop the belfry of Zion United Church of Christ, Second and Iron streets, Lehighton, arrived yesterday and were scheduled to be installed. Workers Jim White, left, and Rick Morin of Verdin Inc., Cincinnati, opted to delay the work until today because of rain and some wind. The 100-pound clock faces will have to be lifted to the top of the steeple and the workers said wind could create a very dangerous situation. They were hoping to get the clock faces installed this morning. The new clock is part of an extensive renovation of the church, said the Rev. Allen Heckman, pastor.
