Speed blamedfor Schuylkill crash

Speed was blamed for a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:35 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, along Fearnot Road, in Hubley Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Sandra L. Bedleyoung, 52, of Valley View, was driving a 1997 Subaru Imprezza eastbound at an apparent high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a sharp right curve at the intersection wtih Maple St. The car went straight at the curve, going down an embankment and into a nearby shallow creek, striking the steep embankment on the opposite side fo the creek.

Bedleyoung was injured and taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of what troopers said was a moderate injury. Troopers said she will be cited.
