Walnutport makes traffic changes

At Walnutport's regular meeting of council held Thursday night council voted to make it no parking on the north side of Fourth Street, put a stop sign on Carbon Street at its intersection with Washington Street and changed the direction of traffic on Carbon Street.

Carbon Street was a one way street with traffic moving north. It will now be one way south. These changes were made to try to help control the flow of truck traffic.

In other business, Council hired Joseph Krebs as a part-time police officer, Councilman Matthew Newhard announced that the Centennial Committee will be holding a meeting April 25 at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall and Council accepted Livengood Excavators Inc.'s bid for the paving involved in the first phase of the Walnutport Playground Improvements Project.
