St. John's Primitive Methodist Church, built 117 years ago at the intersection of Bull Run and Greenwood streets in the West Ward of Coaldale when that section of the community was known as Seek, will be closed permanently after the Sunday, May 30, worship services. William "Cutter" Weaver, a member of the board of trustees of the church, said membership has dwindled from 150 to less than 20. He said as a result, "it is not financially possible" to keep the church open.
