Schuylkill man jailed for assault

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault following a fight in the borough of Girardville.

State police at Frackville said a large fight occurred in front of 372 W. Mahanoy Ave., during which Eric Chester Blesedell, 31, struck Michael Thomas Dolan, 48, both of Girardville, in the head with a board, causing a cut that needed staples to close. Dolan was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, by ambulance for treatment of the injury.

Blesedell was taken into custody and arraigned before duty District Judge Charles Moran, of Pottsville, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $15,000 percentage bail.
