A Berks County driver is facing charges following a one vehicle crash in Carbon County. State police at Lehighton said the crash occurred along Forest St., in Towamensing Township, about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 17.

Troopers said Stephan Tisilemes, 44, of Bernville, was driving a 1999 Honda Accord westbound in the area of Hemlock Street when the car went onto the berm and struck the guide rail and a portion of a concrete abutment. The car then rolled over about one time and landed in a creek coming to rest on its side.

Troopers said Tisilemes left the scene and did not report the crash immediately. He notified troopers several hours later. The vehicle sustained moderate damages to the front end, both sides and the roof.

Troopers said Tisilemes will be cited for several motor vehicle code violations. Towamensing Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.
