A Dauphin County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, along Greenwood Road, in Porter Township, Schuylkill County. It was one of three DUI arrests reported by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Troopers said David A. Willison, 37, of Dauphin, was driving a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck southbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a right curve. The truck went onto the east berm and struck a utility pole shearing it into two pieces. After striking the pole the truck rolled three times and traveled about 162 feet from impact with the pole.

Willison was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, for treatment of moderate injuries, troopers said. A passenger, Bobby Snyder, no age or address given, was taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries and another passenger, Dominick W. Sullens, 45, no age or address given, refused medical treatment for a head injury.

Troopers said Willison is facing several motor vehicle code violations in addition to DUI.

On Saturday about 2:09 a.m. troopers responded to a crash along SR61, a mile south of Greenview Drive, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Katherine M. O'Brien, 22, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 southbound when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the car. The car went onto the the west berm where it struck the guide rails, then continued along the guide rails until it struck a bridge abutment, causing major damages to the vehicle.

After that impact the car traveled east about 20 feet and came to final rest facing east across the northbound lane.

O'Brien, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to the SMC-East for treatment of a minor injury. Troopers said she is facing a DUI count.

Also on Saturday, about 2:45 a.m., troopers stopped a 1992 GMC 1500 pickup truck along SR61 near the Penske curve, in North Manheim Township, for vehicle code violations. At the stop the driver was identified as Elliott Waters, 37, of Frackville. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken to SMC-South, Pottsville, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
