Telephone wire stolen in break-in
Telephone wire was reported stolen in a Schuylkill County burglary.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said a maintenance area owned by Verizon Communications, located at 153 Industrial Park Rd., in East Norwegian Township, was entered sometime between Friday, April 16, at 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 17, at 3:30 p.m.
Troopers said the burglar cut the lock off the security fence, broke two door locks and smashed a window to gain entrance. Once inside the criminal removed 3,000 feet of wire. No value was given for the stolen wire.
