Theft at nursing home is probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County nursing home.

Troopers said Tabatha Ryan Masler, 21, of New Philadelphia, reported she placed her purse on top of a refrigerator at the Schuylkill Center Nursing Home, located at 1000 Schuylkill Manor Rd., in East Norwegian Township, about 6:50 a.m. on Friday, April 16. When she retrieved the purse about 2:50 p.m. she found that someone had gone into the purse and removed $200 in cash.

In another theft incident. Bruce Frederick Fehr Jr., of Bergers Road, Pine Grove Township, reported someone stole his bass fish mailbox from in front of his home sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday at 3 p.m.
