The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met last week with 79 members and one guest, Amelia Stock, in attendance. The business session was conducted by President Jean Machamer, who also offered several readings later in the meeting. Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "Nothing is Impossible."
Reports were provided by secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld and Vice President Doris Brobst, who added Leona Machay and Tom Hanlon to the sick list.
The next meeting will be held April 22, at 1 p.m., at the Tamaqua Community Center, located to the rear of Boyer's Food Mart. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.
Class of 1969
The Tamaqua Class of 1969 will hold an initial planning session for its next reunion on April 29, at 7 p.m., at the Restaurant at the Station. All class members are welcome to attend.

Camp Dragonfly
PinnacleHealth Hospice is now accepting applications for its Camp Dragonfly, a summer camp offering bereavement support for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The camp will be held at two locations this year, Camp Swatara near Pine Grove, from June 4-6 and Camp Hebron, in Halifax, from June 11-13. Camp Hebron also offers programs for children 13-15.

St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. service this Switch Sunday in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Casual dress is encouraged. Sunday school classes meet at 10:30 a.m.
Also on Sunday, Chimes will rehearse at 5:15 and Bells will rehearse at 6 p.m.
Activities for next week will include: Evangelism Committee meets at 6:30 p.m.
The choirs will rehearse on Thursday: Senior Choir at 6:30 p.m. and Youth Choir at 7:30 p.m.
A pictorial directory is planned in celebration of St. John's 175 anniversary. Photos will be taken, at the church, on April 22, 23 and 24. Appointments are required and may be made by calling the church office.
St. Peter's Union
The Rev. Rodney Wells will officiate at the 8:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. Sunday school classes meet at 10:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, the Confirmation Class meets at 1 p.m. and Cub Scouts meet at 6 p.m.
Activities for next week will include: Monday, Girl Scouts meet at 6 p.m., Women's Bible study meets at 6 p.m.; Thursday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m. and Brownies meet at 6:30 p.m.
The choirs rehearse on Thursday: Next week's schedule includes: Cherubs meet at 6:30 p.m., Junior Choir at 7 p.m. and Senior Choir at 7:45 p.m.
Calvary UM
The Rev. Brian Reading will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service Sunday in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Nursery care is available. Sunday school classes meet at 9:15 a.m.
Also Sunday, an evening of praise and Bible study will begin at 6:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, a service of prayer of sharing will be held at 7 p.m.
Class of 1943
The Tamaqua High School Class of 1943 is planning a reunion picnic for its 67th anniversary. The event will be held June 19 at the Owl Creek Reservoir Pavilion, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The menu will include traditional picnic items such as hamburgers, hot dogs and assorted soft drinks. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
Reservations are now being accepted, with a deadline of May 19.
