Thorpe man cited for drunkenness

Jim Thorpe police have charged Shawn Hanman, of 93 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, with public drunkenness.

According to a report released by patrolman Justin Sannie, on April 15 the police received a complaint about two males riding bicycles while drunk along Front Street. Contact was made with two individuals walking alongside bicycles on W. Front Street. While speaking with them police noticed Hanman had a strong odor of alcohol about his person and was observed stumbling about using his bicycle for stabilization.

Hanman's speech was severely slurred, police said. He was in no condition to walk and was considered a safety hazard to himself and the public.
