Woman jailed for assault with knife
A Schuylkill County woman was jailed on Monday for an assault incident with a knife.
State police at Frackville said Susan Russell, 52, of 282 Wood St., Cumbola, Blythe Township, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
According to troopers about 4:30-5 p.m. Russell and Keith Butcavage, 48, also of that address, became engaged in a verbal altercation. During the altercation Russell retrieved a kitchen knife and assaulted Butcavage causing cuts/lacerations on various part of his body. Butcavage managed to flee the residence and was later transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, for treatment.
Russell was taken into custody at the home and charged. She was arraigned by duty District Judge Bernadette Nahas, of Frackville, via video conference at the county prison and was committed to the prison unable to post bail.
