Gardening help
Penn State Master Gardeners will conduct a workshop on small scale vegetable gardening this Saturday as part of a continuing educational series for 2010. The class will be held at the Schuylkill County Extension Conference Room, from 9 a.m. to noon, at 1202 Ag Center Dr., Pottsville. Other workshops in the series will include sessions on Early Crop Harvest on June 19 and Summer Crop Harvest on July 17.
The Master Gardener Program also hosts a gardening helpline, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., every Monday and Wednesday through Sept. 29.

Class of 1978
The Tamaqua Area High School Class of 1978 will meet this Saturday, April 24, at Schick's Cafe on Mauch Chunk Street. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m.
All class members are welcome to attend. Current addresses are still needed for several class members.
West Penn citizens
The West Penn Concerned Citizens will meet on Monday, at 7 p.m., at the West Penn Township Municipal Building. Topics for discussion will include a presentation by West Penn Chief of Police Brian Johnson concerning Crime Watch.
All township citizens are welcome to attend.
Zion Lewistown
The Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. The service will include a children's message and service. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Primitive Methodist
The Rev. Rodney Hall will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Primitive Methodist Church. A children's sermon will be included.
Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m.
First Steps, a support group for mothers with young children, meets the first Tuesday of every month, at 6 p.m., at Primitive Methodist Church.
SS. Peter and Paul
The Rev. William Linkchorst will officiate at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses this Sunday in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Rehearsal for First Holy Communion will be held Monday, at 6 p.m. The Sacrament will be celebrated May 2 during the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Fatima Saturday will be observed May 1. Confessions will be heard beginning at 7:30 a.m. A recitation of the Rosary and devotions will be held before the 8 a.m. Mass.
The Holy rosary Society will attend the 8 a.m. Mass on May 2 and receive Holy Communion as a group. The group will sat the rosary before Sunday's Mass, as well as before every 8 a.m. Mass during the month of May. The public is welcome to participate.
The May Tea will be held May 5, at 4:30 p.m., at the home of Bernadette Griffiths.
Participants are reminded to bring a dessert.
