Indians get 1st victory
Lehighton's girls soccer team came away with its first win and Northwestern softball also picked up a victory over the weekend.
GIRLS SOCCER
Catasauqua-Lehighton
Lehighton's Jordyn Homyak recorded a hat trick against non-league opponent Catasauqua to pull out a 3-1 win, the Indians first of the season.
Homyak's first half goal gave her team the 1-0 lead at the break before she added two more in the second half. Catty scored its goal on a penalty kick by Sue Kropf.
Lehighton outshot Catty 19-6 in the game with Jourdan Semmel recording 10 saves for the Tribe.
BASEBALL

Scott Houser hit a two-run single to drive in Tyler Laudeman and Tom Ferrari for the Spartans to pick up a 5-4 come-from-behind, non-league victory in eight innings over the Bulldogs.
Jake Kern went four-for-four at the plate for the Bulldogs and scored two runs, whikle Joey Seremula also had two hits and drove in a run.

The Blue Devils banged six extra-base hits en route to a 11-3 win over the Wreckers.

N'western-Lehighton
The Lady Tigers used a strong second inning to put up five runs and went on to a 10-1 win over Lehighton in a non-league contest.
Jenna Smith was 1-for-3 with a RBI-double in the losing effort.
Meanwhile, K. Williams finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in the win.
Northwestern improves to 7-5 with the win, while Lehighton drops to 4-7 on the season.
