Woman facing bad check count

Published April 26. 2010 05:00PM

Katherine Miller, 41, of 107 E. Moser Ave., Coaldale, was charged by borough police with passing bad checks.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, on Jan. 20, Miller issued a $405 check from a PNC account to Evans Fuel Oill Co. for her home. The check was returned for insufficient funds. Officer Scott D. Cramer spoke with business owner Mark Krajcirik, who said that his company had made many attempts to contact the Millers to resolve the matter after getting the check back. Their messages were not returned. The company also sent a registered letter to Miller on Feb. 19, giving Miller until March 1 to make the payment. There had been no response from the Millers as of April 2.
