Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident about 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, along SR54 at Big Mine Run Road, in Butler Township.

State police at Frackville said Timothy J. Dowd, 43, of Frackville, was stopped at the above location for traffic violations. He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. Dowd was then transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
