Car crashes into pole in Mahoning
A one-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 2:05 p.m. Tuesday on Mahoning Drive East (Route 902) just west of Hemlock Drive.
A vehicle driven by a 21-year-old male from Lehighton crashed into a PPL Electric utility pole. The pole was sheared off and fell onto the highway.
The road was partially shut down for over an hour.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody by Mahoning Township police for suspected DUI. The accident is still under investigation.
