Earns bachelor degree

Jerry P. Matsko, 2008 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, earned a bachelor of science degree in Computer Animation from Full Sail University, Winter Park, FL. Commencement exercises were held April 2 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Matsko completed the bachelor's degree program in 21 months, following a pre-determined full time schedule of daily classes held in four hour sessions around the clock, throughout the calendar year. he received an award for perfect attendance as well as a course director's award in Animation Preproduction. The son of Dr. Jane Lagan of Tamanend Village, he plans to complete a three month internship at the university before seeking employment.
