Incident on I81 in Schuylkill probed
State police at Frackville are investigating an incident that occurred along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, on Tuesday, April 27.
About 2:30 p.m. Carl Easter, of East Middlebury, Vt., was driving a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound behind a tractor pulling a flatbed trailer, when a metal securing bracket fell off the trailer and struck the hood and windshield of the Cruiser smashing the windshield. The Cruiser had to be towed from the scene.
Easter was not injured. The operator of the truck did not stop and has not been identified.
