Salem St. Paul's Lutheran

A congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, May 2 immediately following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The purpose of the meeting is to elect new council members and approve the 2009 Annual Report. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

The altar guild will meet on Thursday, April 29 at 7 p.m. in the ministry room. Members will review altar guild procedures and discuss some purchases which need to be made.

Funding for purchases for the altar generally come out of the Memorial Fund. New members are welcome and needed.

Training is provided and you will find serving on the altar guild a very meaningful ministry.

Members of the altar guild are grateful servants.

Whether it is preparing the altar, polishing vessels, arranging flowers, cleaning or pressing linens and paraments, cleaning the candle lighters, sewing or hanging paraments, etc., the work is never a burden, but is always a privilege.

Polk Township Historical Society

The Polk Township Historical Society will tour the site of the Lenape Indian village "Meniolagomeka" on Monday, May 3.

The site also served as a Moravian Mission Station from 1749 to 1755.

The group will meet in the Polk Township Municipal Building parking lot at 5:30 p.m. and leave for the site at 5:45 sharp. Because parking at the remote site is very limited, they will car-pool and travel as a caravan.

Everyone is invited to join them on this tour of local history.
