Three-vehicle crash probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a three-vehicle crash about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, along SR61 a tenth of a mile south of University Drive, in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said vehicles operated by Mark Terry Paine, 39, of Kutztown, Sarah R. Lewis, 49, of Auburn, and James E. Kohler, 60, of Hamburg, were northbound in the left lane. Troopers said Lewis stopped behind Kohler while Paine was unable to stop.

The front of Paine's 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the rear of Kohler's 2009 Ford Fusion pushing it into the rear of Lewis' 2006 Toyota Matrix.

Lewis was injured and taken to an area hospital for evaluation, troopers said. No one else was injured with damages minor to the Ram and Fusion and moderate to the Matrix.
