Burglary, theft incidents probed
State police at Lehighton reported troopers are investigating a burglary and theft incidents.
The break-in occurred at the residence of Michelle Billman, 42, 35 Blackberry Lane, Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe. Troopers said entry was gained through an open garage door. Taken was various items form inside the residence. The incident occurred sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1.
A theft from a vehicle incident is being probed. Troopers said a 2003 Ford E-350 van parked at the Knudsen residence at 110 Rolling Meadows Rd., Saylorsburg, in Ross Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime overnight of July 31 and Aug. 1. Removed were wallets, various credit cards and a state driver's license. The listed victims are Stephen Knudsen, 50, and Zachary Knudsen, 18.
Troopers are probing a theft incident at the Sunoco Service Station located along Old Route 115 at Kunkletown Rd., in Ross Township. A white male gained access to a ATM machine and removed 48 $20 bills ($960 total). The incident occurred about 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2.
Troopers said Robert J. Shubrick, 55, of 185 Milton Drive, Lehighton, reported that a firearm he left next to a sofa inside his residence was missing. It is a Beretta Tomcat 32-caliber handgun. Shubrick said he left it at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, and found it missing at 2 p.m.
Troopers also reported on two criminal mischief incidents.
Nichole C. Lilly, 27, of 1540 Hahns Dairy Rd., Palmerton, reported on Tuesday, Aug. 3, that the gas tank and hood latches on her vehicle was damaged and an unknown amount of water was found in her fuel tank. The incident occurred sometime between July 28 at noon and 11:59 p.m. on July 29.
Troopers said Michele Driscoll-Mercer, 45, and James Chobert, 36, of Clearview Drive, Palmerton, reported someone marked their vehicles with profanity usning a white washable window chalk. The incident occurred sometime between 12:30 and 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
