Schuylkill driver in Lehigh crash

A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred about 6:38 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, along George Road (SR100) in Lowhill Township.

Troopers said William H. Schoemaker, 59, of Tuscarora, was driving a Hyundai Sonata westbound when the right front tire blew out while he was making a turn. The car went onto the berm and impacted with a tree. After impact the car continued westbound with the flat tire and came to final rest 50-feet west of the tree.

Schoemaker sustained a minor injury to the forearm and was treated at the scene by Northwestern ambulance personnel. His passenger, Susan A. Muth, 55, of Allentown, was not injured. Damages were termed minor to the car. The car had to be towed from the scene, troopers said.
