Published August 06. 2010 05:00PM

A vehicle stop in Monroe County had led to a driving under the influence (DUI) charge pending against the driver.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported that about 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, officers stopped a vehicle along SR196 near the Dominos Pizza Shop in Mt. Pocono for a taillight being out on the vehicle. The driver was identified as Earl Burgman III, no age given, of Long Pond. Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Burgman and he submitted to and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.
