Monroe traffic stop leads to charges

A traffic stop in Monroe County had led to drug charges pending against the driver.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a officers stopped a vehicle along SR940 at Mt. Pocono about 4:55 p.m. on Aug. 5. for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Calvin Johnson, 25, of Mt. Pocono. A further investigation by K9 Niko was conducted on vehicle. Niko located several baggies of marijuana and prescription pills concealed in the roof the vehicle.

Johnson was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
