Theft, mischief incidents probed

State police at Fern Ridge reported on theft and acts of criminal mischief investigated by troopers recently.

Two vehicles parked along McIlhaney Rd., in Jackson Township, Monroe County, were entered sometime between 12:30 a.m. and noon on Sunday, Aug. 8. The vehicles belong to Richard Cornish, of Stroudsburg. Removed was a blank prescription pads and U.S. currency.

Troopers said someone removed a motor which was attached to a boat on a trailer parked at Lucy's Used and New Tires parking lot along SR209 in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. The theft occurred sometime between 5 pm. on Aug. 5 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 6. The motor is a Minn Kota power drive 55-48 V2 bow-mount trolling motor. The owner is Orlando Betancourt, 41, of Kunkletown.

Troopers reported on the following mischief incidents.

Robert Pipher, of Stroudsburg, reported his Ford F350 box truck he had stored at Brodheadsville Self Storage, Switzgable Rd., Chestnuthill Township, had the windshield and passenger side window broken, the entire passenger side dented and eggs thrown at it. The incident occurred sometime between Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 9 a.m.

Paul Smith, 162 Brian Lane, Effort, and Richard Droelle, 50 Jennifer Lane, The Birches West, Effort, both Chestnuthill Township, reported their mailboxes were damaged by unknown persons. The Smith incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 5 and 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 6. The Droelle incident was reported at 2 a.m. on Aug. 6.
