Lehigh driver facing DUI count

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Gregory Alan Ward Jr., 42, of Coplay, was stopped for traffic violations about 2:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, along SR209 in Trachsville, Towamensing Township. He was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
