Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A traffic stop by Pocono Mountain Regional police has led to drug charges against the driver.

Police said about 4:23 p.m .on Monday, Aug. 9, officers stopped a Chevrolet Suburban along SR916, south of the Penn-Mart store for vehicle code violations.

The driver was identified as Jonathan Aponte, of Tobyhanna. A further investigation revealed that the driver had possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police said he will be charged with possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
