Two Carbon students graduate from Milton Hershey School

Two Carbon County students, Nicolette DeJohn, daughter of Nicholas DeJohn, Junedale; and Rosanna Riggio, daughter of Grace Riggio, Lehighton, recently graduated from Milton Hershey School, a privately-endowed school located in Hershey.

DeJohn was admitted to MHS in 1999, where she was an active member of the Central PA Youth Ballet, cheerleading, Junior Chapel, and the Leo Club.

During the High School Awards Program, she was awarded the Spartan Pride Award. DeJohn also was honored with the Varsity "H" Medal, the most prestigious activity award given by Milton Hershey School. She plans to enlist in the U.S. Navy.

An MHS student since her admission in 2007, Riggio participated in cheerleading, Varsity Choir, Gospel Choir, softball, Halo, and tumbling.

Riggio will attend Bloomsburg University to major in American Sign Language.

Founded in 1909 by chocolate industrialist Milton S. Hershey and his wife Catherine. Milton Hershey School is a private residential school that provides a home, quality education, food, and clothing to students in financial and social need, free of cost to the students and their families.

For 100 years, the school has been a special place where children can open doors to a brighter future.
