Palmerton couple married 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas Wargo of Palmerton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 20, 1960 at Sacred Heart Church in Palmerton by the Rev. George E. Uricheck.

Mrs. Wargo is the former Annette Halmi, daughter of the late John and Helen Halmi of Palmerton. Mr. Wargo is the son of Sophie Wargo and the late George Wargo, also of Palmerton.

Mrs. Wargo was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Palmerton Hospital. Mr. Wargo was employed as a teacher and coach for Palmerton Area School District before his retirement.

They are the parents of seven children: Thomasine, wife of Mike Falcone of Palmerton; Tom, husband to Connie of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Teresa, wife of Shawn Bogert of Bethlehem; Trinette, wife of Dr. Jon Hernandez of Bethlehem; Tim of Harrisburg; Terri, wife of Aaron Sebelin of Palmerton; and Tara of Palmerton.

The couple also has 11 grandchildren: Mike and Matt Falcone; Thomas Wargo; Jonathan, Lindsey, Keri and Leah Bogert; Julia Hernandez; and Garrett, Kyle and Justin Sebelin.

A family party will be held in their honor.
