Man charged in stabbing incident
A Monroe County man was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 15, charged in connection with a stabbing incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. along Mountain Road, at Middle Lane, in Albrightsville.
Police said officers were dispatched to that scene to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival officers spoke with two persons who said they were walking at the above location when an Infinity G35X pulled up in front of them. The driver, later identified as Donnovan S. Channer, 19, of Albrightsville, exited the vehicle with a knife and a fight took place. During the fight one of the victims was stabbed in the chest area. He was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel for a non-life threatening injury. Channer fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers.
Channer was later located at his home and taken into custody on charges of aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and terroristic threats. He was committed to the county prison in Snydersville, police said.
