Nesquehoning citations
Nesquehoning police reported on the following citations issued by officers.
Officer Carl Breiner filed a charge of public drunkenness against Thomas Smith, of 160 Stock St., Nesquehoning, for an incident on July 25. Smith was observed to be intoxicated along SR54 and given a warning to go home. Smith was later found at the Turkey Hill Market and was then cited.
Breiner also issued a stop sign citation on Aug. 13 at the intersection of state routes 209 and 93.
Officer Ronald Peck issued a speeding citation on Aug. 13 for going 58 miles-per-hour in a 40 zone at state routes 209 and 93.
Officer Brian White filed the following citations: On Aug. 14 Paul L. Maupin, 38 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, was stopped about 3:42 a.m. for failing to stop at a stop sign at state routes 93 and 209. Maupin was also cited for driving while under suspension-DUI related. On Aug. 15, a stop sign violation at 209 and 93; and on the same date a junior license violation at the same location.
On Aug. 16 Chief Sean Smith and Officer White were involved in an incident with Joseph Pizzutti, no address given. Pizzutti told officers he wanted to hurt himself. He was taken into custody and transported to the mental health unit of the Lehighton hospital.
