Three arrested on assault counts

Three persons were arrested for assault and related counts following an incident that occurred on Friday, Aug. 13, in Kidder Township.

Township police said about 7:50 p.m. Officer David Mason was dispatched to a fight in progress at a Tallwood Drive residence in Holiday Pocono.

As a result three Albrightsville residents were arrested. Cited were Brad A. Sharwell, 48, of Pocono Rd., charged with one count of aggravated assault upon a police officer in the performance of his duty and two counts each of simple assault and disorderly conduct; Jamie Lynn Schembri, 32, same address, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and one count each of simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment; Alexander Backora, 28, of Beaver Run Rd., was charged with simple assault and persistent disorderly conduct.

Sharwell and Schembri were arraigned before duty District Judge Bruce Appleton, of Palmerton, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $30,000 percentage bail. Backora was arraigned and released on ROR bail.
