Schuylkill driver facing DUI charge

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one- vehicle crash that occurred about 10:38 p.m. at 317 Main St., in the village of Joliet, Porter Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Nikki R. Leinger, 26, of Tremont, was eastbound when her vehicle went onto the left berm and struck a pole with the front end.

Leinger and passenger, Bradley Merwine, 31, also of Tremont, were not injured. Troopers said Leinger is suspected of DUI and that charge is pending.
