A Carbon County driver was the victim of a hit and run driver in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the incident occurred about 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, along SR100 in Lowhill Township.

Troopers said Thomas L. Ackerknecht, 52, of Lansford, was driving a 2004 Mack Vision truck northbound when a southbound vehicle crossed the double yellow line and sideswiped the front driver's side of the Vision. After impact the other driver continued southbound.

Troopers said Ackerknecht, who was not injured, did not report the incident until 5:25 p.m.

Troopers also reported probing a crash involving a Schuylkill County driver that occurred about 3:47 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township.

Troopers said Samantha J. Dalton, 21, of Reading, and William M Lindner, 33, of Pottsville, were both westbound in the area where 78 merges with SR22. Lindner began to slow down for traffic stopped ahead of him and Dalton did not see the vehicle ahead slowing down.

The front of Dalton's 1997 GMC Jimmy hit the rear of Lindner's 2000 Peterbilt 379 truck.

No one was injured. Troopers cited Dalton for following too closely.
