A Schuylkill County driver was seriously injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, along SR895, two-tenths of a mile west of SR61, in West Brunswick Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Diane M. McNamara, 61, of Pottsville, was driving a 1999 Subaru Outback westbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle went into the eastbound lane and then onto the berm. The vehicle traveled along the berm for about 18 feet before colliding into a telephone pole.

After impact with the pole the car rolled over one time before coming to rest down a slight embankment about 20 feet from the road on its roof. McNamara was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by rescue personnel. She was then flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment of injuries.

Troopers said McNamara is facing charges.
