Two injured in Carbon crash

Two persons were injured in a rear-end type crash that occurred on Aug. 16 along E. Center St., in Nesquehoning.

Police Chief Sean Smith said Marie Sniscak, of 920 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, was stopped attempting to make a left turn when her car was struck in the rear by a vehicle operated by Julie Ann Varilek, 130 Center St., Slatington.

Both drivers were injured with Varilek taken to the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton, and Sniscak to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.

Varilek was cited for careless driving, Smith noted.
