Panthers, Colts both beat Nativity in golf

Panther Valley and Marian pulled out wins on the links on Monday with both needing a one-hole playoff to do it.

Weatherly-Sch. Haven

Schuylkill Haven downed Weatherly in its Schuylkill League golf match on Monday, winning 385-449.

The Hurricanes' Phil Dohner was the low-man on the day, as he fired a 95.

Robert Adams led the Wreckers with a 105.

Panther Vy.-Nativity

Panther Valley's Matt Tucker defeated Nativity's Alex Manfell in a one-hole playoff and helped lead the Panthers to the victory.

Scott Nevenglosky led the locals with an 82. Kory Lopata added an 89, while freshman Luke Stano shot a 94.

Although Tucker and Manfell were not the low-men on the day, they faced off in the playoff because they were listed as the No. 1 golfers for the match.

Panther Valley improves to 3-0 on the year.

Marian's Josh Green knocked off Nativity's Alex Manfell in a one-hole playoff as the Colts managed to pull out the win.

The Colts were led by Eric Mason and Chris Postupack. They each fired an 87. Nick Kweder added an 89.

The Blue Bombers opened up Colonial League action and dropped matches to Southern Lehigh and Bangor.

Despite the setbacks, Palmerton's Ben Andrews took medalist honors with a 5-under 67.
