Schuylkill crash

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a one vehicle crash about 2:27 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, in the area of 1141 Pottsville St., in Mechanicsville, just outside Pottsville.

Troopers said Brittany Guris, 20, of Pottsville, was driving a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country van eastbound when she became distracted. The van drifted onto the south berm where the right front struck the left rear of a legally parked 2007 Honda Civic. After impact the van traveled across the road about 120 feet and impacted with a concrete curb near the intersection with Chestnut St.

The van then traveled another 180 feet before coming to rest in the middle of the street facing east.

Guris was not injured and the Chrysler and Honda both had to be towed due to damages.
