August 26, 1980 Robin Bottcher scores a pair of goals to help lead Lehighton's field hockey team to a 3-0 non-league win over Whitehall in their season opener. Bottcher tallies both her goals in the first half for the Indians, coached by Sharon Elder. Julie Frey finishes the scoring for the Tribe with a goal in the second half. Lehighton will go on to post a 10-4 record in the Centennial League, finishing runner-up to undefeated Stroudsburg.
