Teen charged at Carbon school

A teen was charged for an incident at a Carbon County high school. It was one of several incidents reported by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said Gerard G. Nieroda, 18, of Kunkletown, was charged with harassment for an incident at the Palmerton Area High School, in Lower Towamensing Township. Nieroda is accused of having a verbal altercation with a 17-year-old male from Palmerton at the school about 10:20 a.m. on Dec. 2. The altercation turned physical when Nieroda punched the teen in the face, troopers allege.

Charges are pending against Heather York, 26, of Effort. Troopers said on Dec. 2 about 2:35 a.m. she arrived at the residence of Robert Drewes, 68, of 7600 Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, in an intoxicated condition and created a disturbance, troopers said. A charge of public drunkenness in pending against York.

Robert V. Toth, 46, of Kunkletown, has been charged with harassment for an incident that occurred on Nov. 30 about 8:15 p.m. along Robinhood Drive, in Robinhood Lakes, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said at the time and location stated Toth allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with a female and spit on her.

Dave Grayson, 47, of Kresgeville, and a 32-year-old female became involved in a physical altercation at 4 Midway Pines, in Polk Township, about 11 a.m. on Nov. 29. As a result the altercation the female sustained minor injuries. A charge of simple assault is pending against Grayson, troopers said.
