Break-ins probed

State police at Lehighton reported on two burglaries and other incidents probed by troopers.

A break-in occurred at a residence along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Entry was gained by forcing a basement door. Taken was various items. The entry occurred sometime between noon and 8 p.m. on Nov. 29. The victim is listed as a 86-year-old male.

A 56-year-old male who resides along Covered Bridge Rd., in Lower Towamensing Township, reported a detached garage on his property was entered and various items taken including insulated copper wire, a concrete saw and an antique clock. The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 1 and 29.

Troopers probed two criminal mischief incidents.

William E. Serfass, 66, of 1115 Fireline Rd., Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported someone damaged his black metal mailbox and woodend flower bed. The incident occurred sometime between 6 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5.

Shirley Ann Costenbader, 68, of 1025 Beltzville Drive, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County reported someone damaged her black mailbox and post. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
